REMINDER: Friday's the deadline to send in your questions for the Mayoral
Town Hall Q&A -- don't forget public safety issues!

When considering what question you'd like to hear asked, remember that a lot
of topics can be grouped into one question. For example, a question about a
candidate's plan to improve Oakland's public safety services might cover
flood control in creek watersheds; disaster preparedness; wildfire
prevention; emergency medical services; police presence; traffic, bike and
pedestrian safety; 911 response time and so forth.

See the message below for details on the Mayoral Town Hall and on how to
send in your questions.

Subject: [Dimond] Mayoral Town Hall Q&A - Sat March 18th, 11:30am

Hi Dimond Folks,

Mayoral Town Hall Saturday March 18th, 11:30-1:00, St. Lawrence
O'Toole, 3825 High Street, Oakland.
------------
Do you have questions for Oakland's Mayoral candidates? Laurel
Village, in collaboration with neighborhood groups in District 4 are
organizing a Mayoral Town Hall Question and Answer session Saturday
March 18th. Questions will come from the residents of Laurel,
Dimond, Maxwell Park, Allendale, Bret Harte, Redwood Heights and
Melrose neighborhoods.

Candidates Ignacio De La Fuente, Ron Dellums, and Nancy Nadel have
been invited (and confirmed) to spend 90 minutes with the community,
addressing questions provided to them, and asked by local youth
members of the community.

Questions will be grouped into one of the following categories:
·	Economic
·	Environment
·	Education
·	Safety
·	Commercial Development
·	Culture/Arts

Submit questions by FEBRUARY 17th – to email:
dist4questions at gmail.com, or via snail mail to: Dist4Questions, c/o K.
Rolinson, 4036 Loma Vista Avenue, Oakland, CA 94619. Please include
your neighborhood in the email (i.e.: Dimond) - and pass along to those
members of the community who are not 'electronically connected'!

Location: St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic church on High Street (near
MacArthur). The event begins at 11:30am and is first come, first
served. More information will follow in the next few weeks.

Volunteers are also needed. To volunteer contact Kathleen at
krolinson at gmail.com.
We are also asking neighborhood groups to invite and nominate youth
members of their neighborhoods to participate and ask the questions of
the candidates. A meet/greet event will take place immediately
following the event for youth members to meet candidates and learn
ways they can become more involved.

Remember - questions due Feb 17th! We're hoping for a big turnout to
really encourage mayoral candidates to see District 4 and address our
issues.

Thanks

PS. A flier is attached, however I realize some people may not get it
with their email. Its also available at www.laurelvillage.org -
however the information is the same as shared in this email!
