Today's Chronicle has a story about the effects of pesticides on endangered species. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2006/03/02/MNG0JHH6NH1.DTL. The Center for Biological Diversity produced the report that is the basis for the article: http://www.biologicaldiversity.org/swcbd/PROGRAMS/science/pesticides/BayAreaPesticidesReport.pdf

The report references our two local endangered plant species the Pallid manzanita and the Presidio clarkia. Numerous other plants and animals that could be impacted by pesticide use in the Bay Area are also included.
