For folks along Sausal Creek below Dimond Park and for people driving on
roads that might be flooded.

REMEMBER: Never enter water of an unknown depth, either in your vehicle or
on foot. What looks like a puddle in the street may actually be a sinkhole
many feet deep. If you can't see a very shallow bottom, don't enter the
water.

...URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA
IS LIKELY THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT...
...FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE NAPA RIVER AT ST HELENA FOR
LATE TONIGHT...
...FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE RUSSIAN RIVER AT HEALDSBURG FOR
MONDAY MORNING...

A STORM SYSTEM OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC HAS BEEN SPREADING GENERALLY
LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE RAINFALL OVER THE NORTH BAY TODAY.
AS OF 2 PM PST FROM TWO TO THREE AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN HAS
FALLEN OVER NORTHERN SONOMA COUNTY WITH THE LARGEST AMOUNTS OVER THE
HIGHEST ELEVATIONS. ACROSS SOUTHERN SONOMA COUNTY AS WELL AS NAPA
COUNTY RAINFALL TOTALS SO FAR HAVE BEEN ONLY AN INCH OR LESS. THIS
STORM SYSTEM IS STILL FORECAST TO BRING PERIODS OF MODERATE RAINFALL
TO THE NORTH BAY AS IT MOVES OVER THE AREA LATER THIS EVENING AND
INTO THE NIGHTTIME HOURS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS THROUGH
MIDNIGHT ARE FORECAST TO BE FROM ONE TO TWO INCHES OVER THE RUSSIAN
AND NAPA RIVER BASINS. CURRENT SATELLITE DATA INDICATE THE FRONT
TO HAVE STALLED SLIGHTLY THIS AFTERNOON AND NEWEST MODEL DATA
INDICATE THE FRONT WILL PASS THROUGH THE NORTH BAY BY LATE TONIGHT
OR EARLY MONDAY MORNING. WHILE THE RUSSIAN AND NAPA RIVERS HAVE ONLY
RISEN ABOUT A FOOT AND A HALF SINCE EARLY THIS MORNING...PERIODS OF
MODERATE RAINFALL INTO THE NIGHTTIME HOURS SHOULD CAUSE THEM TO RISE
SIGNIFICANTLY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MONTEREY CONTINUES A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR THE NAPA RIVER AT ST HELENA
* EFFECTIVE TONIGHT AND EARLY MONDAY MORNING.
* AT 2 PM TODAY THE STAGE WAS 3.2 FEET.
*    MINOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 13.0 FEET.
* FORECAST TO CREST NEAR 13.0 FEET LATE TONIGHT
THEN TO RECEDE TO NEAR 12.0 FEET MONDAY MORNING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MONTEREY CONTINUES A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR THE RUSSIAN RIVER AT HEALDSBURG
*    EFFECTIVE MONDAY MORNING.
* AT 2 PM TODAY THE STAGE WAS 8.3 FEET.
*    MINOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 19.0 FEET.
* FORECAST TO CREST NEAR 19.0 FEET MONDAY MORNING
THEN TO RECEDE TO 16 FEET BY MIDDAY MONDAY.

WHILE THIS FLOOD WARNING MEANS MINOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE FOR THE
NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE RUSSIAN AND NAPA RIVERS...THE LOWER PORTIONS
OF THESE RIVERS WILL CONTINUE IN A FLOOD WATCH AS THIS SYSTEM MOVES
THROUGH OVERNIGHT. AT THIS TIME THE LOWER PORTIONS ARE NOT EXPECTED
TO REACH FLOOD STAGE.

MODERATE RAIN IS STARTING TO MOVE INTO THE SAN FRANCISCO AND SAN
MATEO COUNTY COASTS. THE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE AND EXPAND INTO
THE EVENING HOURS THROUGHOUT THE BAY AREA AS THE SYSTEM STARTS TO
MOVE INLAND. EXPECT URBAN NUISANCE TYPE FLOODING. ALSO...SMALLER
STREAMS CAN BE EXPECTED TO RISE SIGNIFICANTLY WITH SOME MINOR
FLOODING EXPECTED.

NEVER DRIVE CARS...TRUCKS OR SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES THROUGH FLOODED
AREAS. THE WATER MAY BE TOO DEEP TO ALLOW FOR SAFE PASSAGE. TURN
AROUND...DON.T DROWN.

THE NEXT STATEMENT ON THIS SITUATION WILL BE ISSUED BY 10 PM THIS
EVENING...AND EARLIER IF CONDITIONS WARRANT.
