Took a noon time walk up the el centro trailhead- surrrounded by bird song.
Lots of babies fussing. I saw a fledgling wilson's warbler, downy woodpeckers-
being fed by parents. Heard the call of the pacific slope flycatcher, hutton's
vireo, warbling vireo, and two new voices in the choir: Black-headed
grosbeaks which first colonized the restoration area last year and new this year -the
Swainson's thrush. These all are neotropical migrants, not to mention the song
sparrows, towhees, hummers, finches, jays, squirrels.

Seems like all is right with the natural world.
