We're off to a great start this rainy season, as 377 native plants,
collected and grown by FOSC volunteers at the Joaquin Miller Park Native
Plant Nursery, have already been planted out at the Bridgeview and Fern
Ravine restoration sites this month. Thanks to site leaders Beth,
Kathleen, and Rob for leading amazing volunteers from the local
community, Civicorps
Learning Academy, Merritt College, and UC Berkeley, to get these plants in
the ground!

You are invited help FOSC reach this year's goal of planting over 3,000
native plants throughout the watershed by volunteering at an upcoming
restoration workday. The planting window is short, so please come out and
help at any of the events listed at
http://sausalcreek.org/volunteer/calendar.html. Mark your calendars for
this year's annual *Solstice Planting Event in Dimond Park on Saturday,
December 8th from 8:45am-Noon*. Arrive early for bagels and warm drinks!

*Volunteer opportunities this weekend, Saturday, November 17:*

   - Woodbine Corner, 10am-1pm
   - Gardening at Wood Park, 9am-noon
   - Friends of the Montclair Railroad Trail, 9am-11am

See you out there!
