Dear Friends,

Join us on Saturday and Sunday, December 10 and 11, 9 a.m. - noon to cut
and remove small (~0.5-2" diameter) invasive acacia trees from a formerly
serpentine grassland in Joaquin Miller Park. We have been working on this
project for almost two years and have seen native grasses and wildflowers
start to grow from the seed bank after clearing these invasive trees. Come
lend a hand!

This project is on a slope, so it is important to wear sturdy shoes with
tread. Please also wear long pants, layers, and bring a water bottle.

Please meet at the Friends of Sausal Creek Native Plant Nursery in Joaquin
Miller Park at 9 a.m. on both mornings (12/10 and 12/11):
http://www.documents.sausalcreek.org/nursery_worksite.pdf. The worksite is
a 5 minute walk from the nursery.

To volunteer, please sign and bring both FOSC and City of Oakland volunteer
waiver forms. Anyone under 18 will also need a signature on both forms.
These forms are valid for up to a year for any FOSC program (
www.sausalcreek.org > Programs > Event Calendar).

Waivers: http://www.documents.sausalcreek.org/FOSC_City_Waiver.pdf

Please RSVP to Michelle Krieg at field at sausalcreek.org. This project
requires a minimum of four volunteers, and can accommodate a maximum of
eight on each day.
