Hi Friends of Sausal Creek,

What makes for a successful FOSC meeting? You!

Here are the details on our March meeting for your calendar ... and for
you to please share with your family, friends, and neighbors. Note that
this bimonthly meeting is NOT on the usual third Wednesday. And a big
thank you to Michelle Doppelt and Dimond Recreation Center for letting
us use the room while the Dimond Library is being renovated.

*Mushrooms and iNaturalist Training
Wednesday, March 8, 7-8:30 p.m.
Dimond Recreation Center, 3860 Hanly Rd., Oakland*

Are you fascinated by mushrooms? Have you been thinking about
contributing to a citizen science project? Damon Tighe will get you
excited and equipped to use iNaturalist by starting with the basics--how
to contribute data, how to mine data, and how to help in
identifications. He will then delve into mushroom identification on
iNaturalist, giving tips on taking photos and an overview of the taxa.
Finally, he will discuss the notable taxa in the Sausal Creek Watershed,
offering advice on how to find these fungi so you can start contributing
to iNaturalist.
