Hello FOSCers,

Tuesday was a glorious day in the watershed! The sun was shining, the creek
was sparkling, and the birds were singing; poetry was all around. I was
fortunate to be at Dimond Park on both Tuesday and Wednesday for field
trips with fifth graders from Oakland's Manzanita SEED school. In addition
to removing some invasive plants, we composed five-line poems called
cinquains. Inspiration was provided by the creek, of course. Please enjoy a
couple below:

Trickles and Drops

stream

cold, loud

breathing, flowing, moving fast

sounds cold and fresh

Water

Rippling Water

water

smooth, quiet

rippling, dancing, crashing

blissful happiness every place

aquifer

Have a lovely Thursday!

Jill
