Starting June 3, 10 a.m. - noon: monthly community workdays at FOSC Native
Plant Demonstration Garden in Dimond Park

Ready to start gardening with California native plants? Already have a
native garden, but want to deepen your knowledge about working with local
flora? Community workdays at Dimond Park’s gorgeous Native Plant
Demonstration Garden are an opportunity to join with like-minded folks to
collaborate on tending a well-established public garden. All skill levels
welcome, but volunteers should have some basic gardening skills, a general
understanding of California native plants, and a desire to learn more about
plant identification, pollinator/plant interactions, needs of specific
plants, habitat enhancement, and garden design for year-round beauty and
minimal maintenance. Activities include weeding, pruning, mulching,
planting, watering, and lively conversation.

Beginning this Saturday, June 3rd, community workdays at the Demo Garden
will occur on the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. - noon. The
garden is adjacent to the driveway leading to the Dimond Park Recreation
Center 3860 Hanly Road, Oakland. Continuing along this driveway leads to a
free parking lot. Entering “Friends of Sausal Creek Native Plant
Demonstration Garden” into Google Maps allows you to view the location on a
map. Tools and gloves will be provided.

If you haven't volunteered with FOSC within the past year, please sign and
bring both waiver forms
<http://www.documents.sausalcreek.org/FOSC_City_Waiver.pdf> to the program.
These forms are valid for up to a year with any FOSC program (
www.sausalcreek.org > Volunteer). For more information, please contact Jill
at field at sausalcreek.org or (510) 853-3533 .

See you in the 'Shed!
